Colwyn Bay North Wales
Colwyn Bay is situated on the North Wales coastline in the county of Conwy and has good links to the A55 and North Wales railline.
Colwyn Bay boasts a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for well over 2 miles from the town of Old Colwyn to nearby Rhos on Sea. The beach is split at the midway point by the old Victorian Pier which can still be accessed today.
Away from the beach Colwyn Bay has a vibrant shopping community and the Bay View Shopping Precinct offers great local shopping facilties.
The town has a farmers market once a week and a street market twice a week usually on Tuesday and Saturday.
Nearby Rhos on Sea has a variety of holiday accommodation on offer from hotels and guest houses to self catering accommodation.
Penrhyn Bay which is used 10 minutes drive from the centre of Colwyn Bay has two caravan parks and the town of Llandudno, North Wales largest coastal resort is just 5 miles from Colwyn Bay.
Colwyn Bay's premier attraction is The Welsh Mountain Zoo, which is located in Colwyn Heights.
The zoo is home to a wide variety of rare and endangered animals and works tirelessly to preserve and foster rare species.
A short drive from Colwyn Bay gets you to some of North Wales best tourist attractions. The historic town of Conwy is home to the wonderful Conwy Castle which is one of North Wales most visited tourist attractions. Whilst there take a look around the historic walled town and where better than from the top of the walls themselves.
Alternatively take a drive down the Conwy Valley towards Snowdonia and stop off at Bodnant Gardens which has over 80 acres of beautiful ornamental gardens to explore.
